Mary E. G. Coleman
Mary E. G. Coleman, B.S. Min., brings to the Family Enhancement Center over 30 years experience in family crisis intervention, family coaching and in mentoring young adults. Mary offers her expertise to the Family Enhancement Center as part of our in-home parent development services team. Throughout Mary’s career she has also worked with couples towards marriage reconciliation and is both an example and mentor in leadership development. Mary has been married to Rev. Richard H. Coleman for 39 years and has three children and nine grandchildren.
Kelly O. Finnerty
Kelly O. Finnerty is a Licensed Associate Marriage and Family Therapist, currently serving as Lead Therapist and Coordinator for Family Enhancement Center’s Healing Motion program for adolescent girls. Kelly also has experience providing in-home parenting, individual and family therapy for children and adults. She specializes in the use of the expressive arts to heal the effects of trauma.
Joanna Johnson, LSW, joined the Family Enhancement Center after working as an intern for us while pursuing her Master’sdegreein Clinical Social Work. Joanna has extensive experience working with elderly adults; she has worked as a Social Worker in a nursing home and is currently a case manager working with older adults. Joanna’s passion is the mental health field and she’s excited to be working with us and adding kids and families to her expertise.
Amy Moeller, LICSW, is one of the original co-founders of the Family Enhancement Center and has been a dedicated therapist since 1987. Amy began her career in child protective services for Kanabec County, Minnesota before joining Children’s Hospitals and Clinics in Minneapolis in 1989. Amy specializes in therapy with adolescents and their families and is an expert in the field of child abuse and neglect. Amy offers individual therapy and in home parent development services at the Family Enhancement Center.
Kirsten Moertel, MA, CCLS, brings us more than 15 years of experience assisting children and their families through times of crisis. At the Family Enhancement Center, Kirsten provides individual and family therapy, in- home parent development services and facilitates a weekly support group. Kirsten is also a certified Child Life Specialist and has extensive training in the developmental intricacies of infancy, childhood and adolescence. She loves to play and utilizes expressive art and play as a medium for healing and strengthening the parent and child relationship. Kirsten lives in South Minneapolis with her husband and 5 children.
Martha Rodriguez joined the Family Enhancement Center in 2000 and is a strong advocate for families. Martha facilitates our Spanish Speaking Solid Starts program and provides in-home parent development services for Spanish speaking families. Martha is a native Spanish speaker from Colombia and has a background in law and community health.
Carolyn Washington has been with the Family Enhancement Center since 2007 as part of our in home parent development service and is highly sought after by our colleagues at Hennepin County Child Protection. Carolyn is dedicated to helping families in crisis and her passion comes through as her clients become healthier and are able to provide safe and happy environments for their children. Carolyn is steadfast in her belief that to be successful in school and to grow into productive future citizens, every child must live in an environment free of domestic violence and abuse.
