Mission
The Family Enhancement Center (FEC) provides lasting solutions to prevent and heal child abuse. By supporting children, youth and families who have experienced trauma, we make resilience a real possibility.
Children have the capacity to heal from abuse if they have stable, responsive relationships with caring adults. We work with entire families to ensure they have the necessary resources and education to help their child thrive.
Vision
We believe that providing a nurturing environment is the best way to restore, repair and protect child and youth well-being. FEC combines therapy and group counseling with targeted parent education, community engagement initiatives and wrap-around services.
Our innovative programs offer a holistic approach, offering support not only to children and youth who have experienced abuse, but to entire families so that everyone can heal.
Our History
Founded in 1993 by three therapists dedicated to supporting children facing abuse and neglect, Family Enhancement Center began as the Center for Child Abuse Prevention and Treatment. Over the years, we’ve grown into a thriving resource for families, offering comprehensive counseling, parent education, assessments, and in home support. Today, we proudly serve over 200 families and 600 children from across the Twin Cities, making a significant impact on our community.
