Board of Directors
The Family Enhancement Center is governed by a board of directors composed of community members — including former clients — who are dedicated to our mission of creating lasting solutions to prevent and heal child abuse. Their leadership and insight are instrumental in bringing our vision to life, guiding our efforts to foster safer, healthier families across the Twin Cities.
Michaela serves on the board of the Family Enhancement Center. She joined FEC because of a deep admiration for the mission and the clients it supports. As a mother to two daughters, she can only imagine the difficulties that families experience when navigating the challenges faced due to sexual abuse and the resulting trauma. Michaela serves on the executive committee and has previously served on the fundraising committee, marketing committee and planning committee.
Dennis joined the Family Enhancement Center’s board of directors because he wholeheartedly believes in their mission to create lasting solutions for preventing and healing child abuse. As a former foster parent, he’s witnessed firsthand the profound impact that abuse can have on children’s lives. It’s a cause that resonates deeply with him, driving him to advocate tirelessly for the well-being of vulnerable children and families. By leveraging his personal experiences and professional expertise, he is committed to supporting the Family Enhancement Center in its crucial work of nurturing safe and nurturing environments where every child can thrive.

Deb joined FEC because the services provided to children and families truly make a difference. Through FEC she has learned what living with trauma can do to a child. By providing access to services, children start to see hope in their lives again. Trauma not only affects the individual, but the entire family unit. FEC helps the entire family.
Willie has been on the board for 6 years and currently serves as the former board chair. He currently sits on the finance and executive committees. His motivation for being on the board is his belief that FEC provides needed services to families.
John initially joined the Family Enhancement Center because he had tremendous respect for its founder, Libby Bergman. Over time, he came to appreciate both the quality of the services that Family Enhancement Center provides and the need for the services. Family Enhancement Center saves children and keeps families together. He is a former board chairperson.
Erin joined the FEC board to support the important work this organization does not only to heal trauma and abuse in our community but also to prevent it. The focus on prevention is something that truly distinguishes FEC from other organizations. Erin serves on the finance committee.
Tracey joined FEC to give back to the community. When her family needed help, Libby and FEC did not pause gave her family priceless direction and guidance in a time when they were lost. When asked to join the board, it was an easy decision. Tracey serves on the fundraising committe.
Larry currently serves on the Employee Relations Committee.
The Family Enhancement Center gives Twin Cities-area children and their families the tools they need to not only survive the trauma of abuse, but to thrive. Having seen firsthand how the organization has transformed lives, Maggie is dedicated to ensuring they have access to those resources by raising funds and awareness of FEC’s groundbreaking work. Maggie serves on the fundraising committee and marketing committee.
