Volunteer Office Assistant

Summary
Volunteer Reports to Volunteer Coordinator
The Office Assistant will perform a variety of tasks depending on project deadlines in the FEC office. This will include answering phones and other administrative tasks as assigned by the Volunteer Coordinator, with direction from FEC office staff. This position helps to extend the resources available at the Family Enhancement Center, to better assist and direct the needs of our clients.
- Answer phones
- Greet clients
- Gather information from potential clients using “intake form”
- Make copies of documents to keep form files full
- Scan documents and upload into electronic medical records system
- Score tests and evaluation tools
- Check in faxes and distribute to staff
- Fax documents out
- Write thank you notes to donors
- Assist with annual fundraising events
Requirements
- Must complete FEC Volunteer Form and Background Check
- Must present a professional appearance and a friendly manner
- Must be dependable and punctual
- Be courteous and personable when dealing with the public
- Be self-directed, willing to take initiative, and detail-oriented
- Respect and maintain confidentiality of Family Enhancement Center volunteers, partners, and donors
- Computer skills are desired, but not necessary
Training and Supervision
- Initial “interview” and orientation with Volunteer Coordinator
- Complete office orientation as needed
- Training and supervision conducted by Volunteer Coordinator and FEC staff.
Time Commitment
- As needed. Currently COVID protocols require individuals to be vaccinated and to wear a mask at all times while at the FEC offices. This will be updated as the federal and state CDC guidelines change.
